Ocean plastic pollution really is everywhere. The World's deepest trench, 36.000 feet underwater, also known as the Mariana Trench, is now the house of a plastic bag that managed to make its way through. Scientists said this is the world's deepest known piece of trash that we know of.
The presence of this plastic bag, just like the ones you can get from a supermarket, in one of the most remote and deepest parts of the ocean adds to the increasing concerns about plastic pollution. Last year, scientists found more chemical pollutants in parts of the Mariana Trench than in some of China’s most polluted waterways, probably due to the breakdown of plastic objects into microparticles.
